Boomerang Schedule Update: Bunnicula set to Premiere. The Looney Tunes Show, Chowder, and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends OUT

We have weekend updates following my previous post.  The next Boomerang original is set to premiere. Bunnicula will premiere Saturday, February 6th at 6:30PM ET on Boomerang.  Interestingly enough, Cartoon Network will also premiere it that morning at 9:30AM.  This marks the third original program for Boomerang thanks to the big deal they made with Warner Bros. for brand new half hour shows.  The other two are Wabbit and Be Cool Scooby-Doo.

Based on the books by James Howle, Bunnicula is a vampire rabbit that sucks juice out of vegetables.  The series lasted from 1979 to 2004.  This adaptation is with the help of Jessica Borutski as character designer, and Maxwell Atoms behind the series as well.  This will also include voice talents such as Sean Astin.  You can see a preview of this show right now.

The schedule also shows that The Looney Tunes Show, Chowder, and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends are no longer airing on Boomerang as of tomorrow.  No word yet on the fate of Transformers, but we will let you know as soon as possible.  Yesterday we reported that Boomerang will be starting their Hour and a half blocks on some of their shows including Tom and Jerry, The Flintstones, and Looney Tunes.  Stay tuned for more updates.

Boomerang Schedule Update: Transformers Robots in Disguise In (????)

According to the backdoor schedule, Boomerang will be adding Transformers Robots in Disguise to its lineup.  It's scheduled to air Sunday morning at 6am.  Formerly where an hour of Tom and Jerry is, that block is reduced to a half an hour at 6:30am.  Not sure if this is permanent or a mistake at this time, but we will keep you updated if this is the same on Saturdays or any other changes to the weekday schedule next week.

If that's the case, this marks the first time Transformers has made its way onto Boomerang and the first Hasbro owned show to air on that channel.  Based on the popular toy franchise, this show is about vehicles that will transform into giant robots when ready to fight.  All Transformers related news will now be covered on this blog as a result.

Great Smoky Jellystone to Become Imagination Mountain

Sad news today in the Cosby TN area: Yogi Bear and friends are leaving the area.  The former Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park franchise has lost its license and will be renamed Imagination Mountain.  According to their Facebook page, "We are excited about this new venture and change."  However, things just won't be the same without Yogi Bear there anymore.  But fear not....there are still TONS of Jellystone Park locations across the US as it is one of the most popular camp resort franchises.

Based on the classic Hanna-Barbera cartoon series, Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park is a family friendly camp resort featuring Yogi Bear and friends.  The company runs about 80 different locations each one unique in their own ways.  In order for a campground to become a Jellystone, it must meet several expectations including a swimming pool, at least 70 camp sites, a playground, and more.

Back in September when this blog started, a similar concept based on The Flintstones called Bedrock City Park in South Dakota sold their property.  While that park will remain open, they would have to contact Warner Bros. (current owner of the Hanna-Barbera property) to keep the licencing.  Another location also decided to sell their property and the new owners would also have to re-negotiate their license to keep the characters.

Like many Hanna Barbera series, Yogi Bear was a major part of Boomerang for many years and remained a part of their schedule until the re-brand in 2015.

In Pokémon the Series: XYZ, follow Ash, Pikachu, and their friends as they explore the deepest mysteries of the Kalos region! Team Flare has plans for the Legendary Pokémon Zygarde and the secret it holds. Alain's ongoing search for the source of Mega Evolution intersects with our heroes' adventures. And true to Gym Leader Olympia's prediction, Ash and his Frogadier will work together to reach surprising new heights! Journey into uncharted territory with the latest season of Pokémon animation!"

The anime premiered in October in Japan.  This is a continuation of where X and Y left off last year.  More details such as a premiere date to be released soon.
